Australia has the highest rate of pet ownership in the world, yet there is a disturbing aspect to our relationship with them. Every year in NSW more than 60 000 unwanted cats and dogs are euthanased in council pounds.
During the next few months each MP in NSW will be called to vote on the Animals (Regulation of Sale) Bill. Paws for Action is committed to achieving their support for this bill.
You Can Make a Difference Every Day

This site contains the following resources for you to download and use:
- How to identify and locate your local MP
- Letter templates for you to send to your local MP
- A letter to send to Labor MPs
- Petition to print off and leave with family, friends, colleagues and local businesses
- A letter of support for your vet to sign
- Case Studies of rescued animals to print off and send to your MP reminding them that the statistics are more just numbers
- Posters to put up on community or work notice boards
- Pamphlets to leave at Cafes, on public transport, your work lunch room… be creative!

These resources will be updated on a weekly basis with new letter templates and case studies. We need you to send them to your MP on a daily (or regular) basis. Please ask friends and family to do the same. This campaign is designed to be quick and easy for you, and a constant reminder for your MP.
We don’t have long before this life saving Bill is voted on. We need to act now to make a difference!
